This
plan establishes specific goals and objectives for the creation
and implementation of a fully functional human services
department.
Cabarrus County has determined that consolidating all human
service functions in to one department will provide for more
effective and efficient delivery of federal, state, and local
programs that assist citizens on an ongoing basis. Due to the
fact most of these individual agencies serve many of the same
population, it is believed by placing all agencies in to one
department will improve the holistic care and streamline services
to citizens. Departments included in this initial consolidation
include Social Services, Aging, Transportation, and County Legal
(that serves the Social Services Department).
