Martin Starnes and Associates, gave a She stated an unqualified opinion on issued and praised County staff for Susan Fearrington, Assistant Finance Director, reviewed the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the year ended June 30, 2011, including the general fund balance sheet which identified assets of $85,783,481, liabilities of $11,770,070 and fund balance available for appropriation of $16,290,278. The net change in fund balance for the general fund totaled $8,357,473 as identified on the Statement of Revenues, Expenditures and Changes in Fund Balance. She also responded to questions from the Board throughout the presentation and announced the CAFR is available to the public on the County's website ( www.cabarruscounty.us ). UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner White and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the Fiscal Year 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report as presented. Commissioner Carruth commented on risk assessment and questioned if money needs to be set aside for future claims. (I -4) CSLE - Council for a Sustainable Local Economy - Update The Board received the following report as part of the Agenda: Growing the Cabarrus Economy from the Inside Out: Part I. (I -5) Tourism Authority - Cabarrus County Tourism Authority 1st Quarter 2011/2012 Update The Board received the following report as part of the Agenda: Cabarrus County Tourism Authority's 1 st Quarter 2011/2012 Update. (I -6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees Chairman Poole urged citizens to consider serving on a County board or committee. She asked interested individuals to contact the Clerk at 704 -920- 2100 or to go to the County's website at www.cabarruscounty.us and view information on the various County boards and committees.
