February 15, 2010 (Regular Meeting) Page 1820 <br />exception to the Appointment Policy (multiple service provision) is needed <br />for her. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Revella Nesbit (Mental <br />Health/Ex Officio), Karen King (Substance Abuse) and Sally Coleman (Victim <br />Services) to the Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board for 3-year terms <br />ending February 28, 2013, including the aforementioned exceptions to the <br />Appointment Policy. <br />(H-5) Appointments - Parks Commission <br />At the Park Commission's November 2009 meeting, John Parker (At-large <br />Member) and Margaret Houston (Midland) were recommended for reappointment for <br />additional 3-year terms; both individuals are eligible for reappointment. <br />At their January 2010 meeting, the Parks Commission voted to recommend <br />the appointment of Tracy Broome to fill the Northwest Cabarrus Area position <br />vacated by Dick Snyder. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Tracy Broome (Northwest Cabarrus <br />Area) to the Parks Commission for a 3-year term ending January 31, 2013; and <br />reappointed John Parker (At-large Member) and Margaret Houston (Midland) to <br />the Parks Commission for 3-year terms ending January 31, 2013. <br />(H-6) Removal - Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />It is requested that Anita Tucker be removed from the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee (NHCAC) for incompletion of required <br />orientation. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Anita Tucker from the Nursing Home <br />Community Advisory Committee roster for failure to complete the required <br />orientation. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees <br />Chairman White urged citizens to consider serving on a County board or <br />committee. He asked interested individuals to contact the Clerk at 704-920- <br />2100 or to go to the County's website at <br />www.cabarruscounty.us/commissioners/boardsandcommittees and view information <br />on the various County boards and committees. <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards/Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Agricultural Advisory Board <br />• Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) <br />• Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board <br />• Harrisburg Fire Advisory Board <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />• Mt. Pleasant Planning Board and Board of Adjustment <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Piedmont Area Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse <br />Authority <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />• Tourism Authority <br />• Transportation Advisory Board <br />(I-2) Tourism Authority - 2nd Quarter 2009/2010 Update <br />The Board received the Tourism Authority's Second Quarter 2009/2010 <br />Financial Update as part of the Agenda.
