June 7, 2010 (Work Session) Page 1963 <br />project; the local match of $10,000.00 is the only cost the County will incur <br />to purchase the 47.9 acre tract; etc. <br />Ms. Strong and Mr. Morehead also responded to several questions from <br />the Board. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice'Chairman Poole, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the approval of purchase of <br />real property on the June 21, 2010 Agenda as a Consent item. <br />Solid Waste Management - Scrap Tire Disposal Con tract with U.S. Tire <br />Recycling <br />Rick Payne, Solid Waste Manager, requested approval of a scrap tire <br />disposal contract with U.S. Tire Recycling totaling $435,000.00. He advised <br />this is a renewal of an existing contract, funding for this project is <br />provided by the State Scrap Tire Tax Program and is included in the FY 2010- <br />11 budget. <br />John Day, County Manager, advised the County is in a good position <br />because the tire recycler is located within the county which keeps <br />transportation costs down. <br />Mr. Payne also responded to questions from the Board. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Scrap Tire Disposal <br />Contract with U.S. Tire Recycling on the June 21, 2010 Agenda as a Consent <br />item. <br />Recess of Meeting <br />The Board took a short break at 5:06 p.m. The meeting resumed at 5:19 <br />p.m. <br />Tax Administration /Commerce - Update on Cabarrus /Rowan Line <br />Brent Weisner, Tax Administrator, and Jonathan Marshall, Commerce <br />Director, provided an update on the Cabarrus /Rowan County Line. During the <br />presentation Mr. Marshall reviewed a map of the proposed boundary line.
