September 7, 2010 (Work Session) Page 99 <br />Reports <br />• BOC - Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee <br />• Commerce - Summary Reports for HALUP for June and July 2010 <br />• Request for Applications to County Boards /Committees <br />County Manager - Report from Piedmont Natural Gas on Proposed Gas Line <br />Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager, announced several representatives <br />from Piedmont Natural Gas Company (PNG) are present to present information on <br />a proposed natural gas line to be located through the Cox Mill Elementary and <br />High Schools and the Cox Mill Park area. <br />Marty Viser, PNG Community Relations Manager, distributed handouts to <br />the Board. <br />George Baldwin, PNG Managing Director, Legislative and Community <br />Affairs, advised this presentation is a follow up to PNG's public meeting <br />held on August 17, 2010 in Concord. He further advised PNG has owned and <br />operated a pipe line in Cabarrus County for over fifty years and that <br />upgrades to the infrastructure are needed due to growth in the state and <br />region.
