The boundary adjustments were <br />required so that County long range planning areas reflect the annexation and <br />utility agreements in place between jurisdictions that are utility providers. <br />Staff requests that the Board of Commissioners consider the following changes <br />and that one new Commission member is appointed. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following changes to the <br />existing Planning and Zoning Commission appointments: move Mr. Barry C. <br />Shoemaker to the Kannapolis Area position to complete an unexpired term <br />ending August 31, 2011; move Mr. Larry Ensley to the Northwest Area position <br />to complete an unexpired term ending August 31, 2011; and move Ms. Brenda <br />Cook to the At -large position to complete an unexpired term ending August 31, <br />2012. By the same vote, the Board appointed Mr. Rick Price to represent the <br />Midland Planning Area to complete an unexpired term ending August 31, 2012. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I -1) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Chairman White urged citizens to consider serving on a County board or <br />committee. He asked interested individuals to contact the Clerk at 704 -920- <br />2100 or to go to the County's website at <br />www.cabarruscounty.us/ commissioners /boardsandcommittees and view information <br />on the various County boards and committees. <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Animal Protection and Preservation Advisory Committee <br />• Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission ( Kannapolis Zoning Area) <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) <br />• Council for a Sustainable Local Economy <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Ethics Training <br />N.C.G.S. 160A -87 (a) (Session Law 2009 -403) requires the members of the <br />governing boards of all cities, counties, local boards of education, unified <br />
