Employees governed by the State Personnel Act shall be subject to all <br />Articles except Ar-trclme 1 Seet =en 2; Article III, Section 5; and <br />Article VII, Sections 1.(e) and 2 -5. <br />2. Temporary employees designated by the Board of Commissioners shall be <br />subject to all Articles except Article III, Sections 12 -13; Article IV, <br />Sections 12 -14; Article VI, Sections 2 -17, 19 -24; Article VII, Sections <br />1 -5; and Article IX, Sections 1, 2, 4, and 5. <br />3. Employees of the Sheriff and Register of Deeds shall be subject to all <br />Articles except Article I, Section 4; Article IV, Sections 3 -7 and 12- <br />15; Article VII, Sections 2 -6; and Article VIII, Sections 1 -5. <br />4. The Director of Elections and employees of the County Board of <br />Elections shall be subject to all Articles except Article I, Section 4; <br />Article IV, Sections 3 -7 and 10 -15; Article VII, Sections 2 -6; and <br />Article VIII, Sections 1 -5 unless otherwise permitted by the current <br />County Board of Elections. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the recommended revision to the <br />Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance, effective December 20, 2010. <br />(F -9) Jail - Request for Additional Funding for Offsite Inmate Housing and <br />Related Budget Amendment - $975,000.00 <br />A higher than expected population at the jail has resulted in <br />transferring more inmates to other county jails for housing than planned. <br />The estimated cost of housing these additional inmates in jails in other <br />counties for the remainder of the fiscal year is $975,000.00, which <br />represents a savings of approximately $375,000.00 over the other alternative, <br />which is opening the new jail 1.5 months earlier than planned. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />Date:12 /20/2010 Amount:$975,000 <br />Dept.
