<br />(F -8) Human Resources - Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance Revision
<br />The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on
<br />September 21, 2009 to seek approval from the North Carolina State Personnel
<br />Commission for substantial equivalency in the areas of recruitment,
<br />selection, and advancement and classification and compensation under the
<br />standards established in NCGS Chapter 126. The petition was approved by the
<br />State Personnel Commission effective November 1, 2010. This is a request to
<br />adopt the recommended change to the Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance,
<br />Article I, consistent with this approval.
<br />The following is a copy of the proposed revision showing the
<br />recommended deletion (red, line through type):
<br />Recommended Change to the Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance
<br />Revision Effective December 20, 2010
<br />Article I. Organization of Personnel System
<br />Section 2. Coveraae
<br />All employees in the County's service shall be subject to this Ordinance,
<br />except as provided in this section.
<br />(a) The following officials and employees are exempt:
<br />1. Elected Officials;
<br />2. County Manager;
<br />3. County Attorney;
<br />4. Tax Administrator;
<br />5. Members of advisory and special boards or commissions;
<br />6. Contractual employees of the Board of County Commissioners;
<br />7. Employees of the Cabarrus County public school systems;
<br />8. Members and employees of other County established authorities (separate
<br />or in partnership).
<br />(b) The following employees shall be covered only by the specifically
<br />designated Articles and Sections:
