King expired on January 31, 2009. <br />Ms. King is interested in serving another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Andrea G. King to the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee to serve a three-year term ending on <br />January 31, 2012. <br />(H-2) AAPOintmenta - Hoard of Equalization and Review <br />Jim Roberts has respectfully requested to resign from his position on <br />the Board of Equalization and Review. An application for appointment has <br />been received from Jeff Carpenter and his appointment is recommended by the <br />Tax Administrator. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board accepted Jim Roberts' resignation and <br />appointed Jeff Carpenter to the Board of Equalization and Review to fill an <br />unexpired term ending June 30, 2011. <br />(H-3) Appointments - Cabarrus County Parke Commission <br />The Parks Commission recommends the following reappointments to serve <br />three-year terms ending January 31, 2012 on the Cabarrus County Parks <br />Commission: Charles Mitchell - Kannapolis School Board; Andrea Palo - <br />Cabarrus County School Board; Steve Sciasica - Harrisburg Planning Area; and <br />Shannon Glenn - Kannapolis Planning Area. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Charles Mitchell, Andrea Palo, <br />Steve Sciascia and Shannon Glenn to the Parks Commission to serve three-year <br />terms ending January 31, 2012 as recommended by the Parks Commission at its <br />January 15, 2009 meeting. <br />(H-4) Appointments - Criminal Justice Partnership Pro ram <br />An application for appointment to the Criminal Justice Partnership <br />Program (CJPP) has been received from Ms. Sally Coleman to fill the "Victims <br />Services" position in accordance with N.C.G.S. 143B-273.10(a)(12). Ms. Karen <br />King has also applied to be appointed to the CJPP to fill the "Substance <br />Abuse" seat. Because. Ms. Kinq resides in Mecklenburg County, an exception to <br />the residency requirement of the appointment policy will be required. <br />Also, an application has been received from Ms. Revella Nesbit for <br />appointment to the CJPP to fill the vacant "Mental Health" seat. Ms. Nesbit <br />resides in Mecklenburg County and also serves on the Juvenile Crime <br />Prevention Council, therefore, an,„ exception to the "service on multiple <br />boards" provision and to the residency requirement of the appointment policy <br />is requested. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Sally Coleman to the CJPP to <br />complete a one-year term ending February 28, 2010; granted an exception to <br />the Appointment Policy and appointed Ms. Karen King to fill the "Substance <br />Abuse" position to complete a one-year term ending February 28, 2010; and, <br />granted an exception to the Appointment Policy and appointed Ms. Revella <br />Nesbit to fill the "Mental Health" position to complete a one-year term <br />ending February 28, 2010. <br />
