<br />Following the presentation, Mr. McDaniels responded to several
<br />questions from the Board related to future grants for the tenants and the
<br />estimated number of jobs to be created. A general discussion ensued and it
<br />was noted that only one grant can be awarded unless an exception is granted
<br />by the Board of Commissioners.
<br />Chairman White opened the public hearing at 6:98 p.m. The Public
<br />Hearing Notice was posted on the Cabarrus County website on August 5, 2009 in
<br />accordance with Article 2, Administration, Section 2.1 (use of electronic
<br />means to provide public notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances.
<br />With there being no one to address the Board, Chairman White closed the
<br />public hearing.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole
<br />with Chairman White and Commissioners Carruth and Poole voting for and
<br />Commissioner Privette voting against, the Board approved a 3-year, 85 percent
<br />Economic Development Grant for 390 Business Blvd., LLC, pursuant to the
<br />Economic Development Grant Program effective October 20, 2008, and authorized
<br />the County Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of the Board, subject
<br />to review and/or revision by the County Attorney.
<br />Len Witke, Cabarrus County Schools, requested an additional $255,000 of
<br />contingency funds for the following school projects:
<br />Cox Mill High start-up funds and custodial equipment $225,000.00

<br />testing $15,000.00
<br />Bus Maintenance Facility engineering/additional material $15 000.00

<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the use of $255,000.00 of
<br />contingency funds as requested by the Cabarrus County Board of Education and
<br />adopted the following budget amendment:

<br />Engineering.
