August 17, 2009 (Regular Meeting) Page 1546 <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />• Transportation Advisory Board <br />Chairman White urged Cabarrus County citizens to consider serving on a <br />County Board or Committee. <br />(I-2) Tourism Authority - Fourth (4r") Quarter 2009 Financial Update <br />The Board received the following report as part of the Agenda: the <br />Tourism Authority's Fourth Quarter 2009 Financial Update. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS HY HOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Privette commented on a comparison of tax rates of <br />counties with Republican boards in an article published in the July issue of <br />the COUNTY LINES from the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners. <br />A short discussion ensued on the importance of comparisons of "apples to <br />apples" not "apples to oranges". <br />(K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br />(L-1) Closed Session - To Prevent <br />Information; To Disousa Threatened <br />Diacusa Matters Relating to the Lo <br />to N.C.G.S. 143.318.11(x)(1)(3)(4). <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to prevent <br />disclosure of privileged or confidential information; to discuss threatened <br />or pending litigation (APFO/SMI); and to discuss matters relating to the <br />location or expansion of industries pursuant to N.C.G.S. <br />193.316.11(x)(1)(3)(4). <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session at 8:08 <br />p.m. <br />(M) RECESS <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting recessed at 8:08 p.m. until Wednesday, <br />August 19, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental <br />Center in Concord. <br />Cler to he <br />
