August 17, 2009 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 1530 <br />Proclamation No. 2009-08 <br />CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH <br />IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the welfare of our children is the most important responsibility <br />we have as parents. A child should be able to depend on support from both <br />parents; and <br />WHEREAS, children who do not receive adequate financial and emotional <br />support from both parents may experience greater difficulty in becoming <br />healthy, happy, andproductive citizens of this County. In such cases, the <br />taxpayers of this County support the children whose parents fail to meet this <br />responsibility; and <br />WHEREAS, many concerned and dedicated judges, district attorneys, clerks <br />of court, sheriffs' personnel, and child support professionals work to <br />provide this service to Cabarrus County's children our future; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby proclaim the month of September as <br />CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH IN CABARRUS COUNTY <br />and urges all parents who are currently under court order to regularly pay <br />their child support. <br />This the 17t" day of August, 2009 <br />/s/ H. Jay White, Sr. <br />Chairman, Cabarrus County <br />Board of Commissioners <br />(F-4) EM3 - Approval of Ambulance Piggyback Purchase - $220,000.00 <br />Request awarding the purchase of two (2) new Type III ambulances to <br />Southeastern Specialty Vehicles, Inc. by piggybacking a bid awarded <br />previously by Rockingham County, North Carolina. The purchase price per unit <br />will be $110,000.00 each (a savings of $9,000.00 per unit below Rockingham <br />County's awarded cost). The purchase of two new ambulances is approved in <br />the Fiscal Year 2010 budget. The total of purchase cost for two new Type III <br />ambulances is $220,000.00. <br />The following notice was posted on the County's website on August 3, <br />2009: "Awarding a Contract to Southeastern Specialty Vehicles, Inc. for New <br />Type III Ambulances by Piggybacking a Bid Awarded Previously by Rockingham <br />County, North Carolina." <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the piggyback of Rockingham County's <br />bid to purchase two (2) new Type III ambulances at a cost of $110,000 each. <br />(F-5) Finance - Budget Amendment (Uncompleted Proiecta from FY 2009) <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br />Date: B/17/2009 Amount: $919, 680.80 <br />Dept.
