Fees Advertising Interest Balance Due <br />1999 $71,071.59 $9,929.00 $729.00 $62,691.69 $139,366.23 <br />The MOTION unanimously carried. <br />Commerce Department - Reservation of Capacity Certificate - The Oaks at <br />Stephens Place Project <br />Jonathan Marshall, Commerce Director, requested this item be tabled <br />indefinitely. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to table the Reservation of Capacity <br />Certificate for The Oaks at Stephens Place Project indefinitely. <br />BOC - Resolution World War II Flight Of Honor Day <br />Chairman White presented a request declaring September 19t" as "World <br />War II Flight of Honor Day" in Cabarrus County. He stated the Rotary Clubs <br />in this district, which encompasses Cabarrus County, sponsor at least one <br />veteran per club. As a member of the Cabarrus County Rotary Club which is <br />sponsoring a veteran in September of this year, he requested the Board <br />consider adopting the resolution. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to suspend its rules of procedures <br />in order to take action on this item due to time constraints. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />RESOLUTION <br />Resolution No. 2009-22 <br />WHEREAS, the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC was completed in 2009 <br />and honors the 16 million men and women who served in the armed forces of the <br />U. S. , the more than 900, 000 who died, and all who supported the war effort <br />from home; and <br />WHEREAS, due to health, physical, motivational or financial limitations many <br />World War II veterans from North Carolina may never see their memorial; and <br />WHEREAS, Rotary District 7680 wants to make the Flight of Honor available to <br />the World War II veterans in the 19 counties of the Rotary District; and <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is in Rotary District 7680; and <br />WHEREAS, Rotary District 7680 provided a one-day, all expense paid, chartered <br />Flight of Honor in April and will provide another Flight of Honor in <br />September through the generous support of corporate sponsors, service <br />organizations, family members and caring citizens; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina Rotary District 7680 and will honor the lives, valor <br />and courage of World War II veterans on September 19, 2009, by sponsoring a <br />chartered U.S. Airways flight from Charlotte to Washington DC, thus providing <br />120 veterans their Flight of Honor and celebrating the accomplishments of <br />World War II veterans: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners County declare <br />September 19t" as "WORLD WAR II FLIGHT OF HONOR DAY" in Cabarrus County and <br />commend its observance to all citizens. <br />ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS of Cabarrus County, North Carolina this <br />the 8th day o£ September, 2009. <br />/s/ H.
