September S, 2009 (Work Session) <br />Page 1560 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following list of additional <br />items to be placed on the September 21, 2009 Agenda: <br />Consent Agenda <br />• Human Resources - Drug Free Workplace Policy Revision <br />• Register of Deeds - Refund of Excise Stamps - $236.00 <br />• Tax Administration - Refund and Release Report - August 2009 <br />Appointments <br />• Appointments - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />Reports <br />• Request for Application to County Boards/Committees <br />Closed Session <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session pursuant <br />to NCGS 193-318.11(a)(6). <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Poole, <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session. <br />Investigation Pending on Death of Group Home Resident <br />Chairman White reported investigations are underway related to a <br />pedestrian that was intentionally struck and killed by a motorist on Pine <br />Street in Kannapolis. He explained DSS monitors group homes and the <br />resident, Jimmy Douglas Maudlin, had checked himself out of the Kannapolis <br />Village long-term facility. He further reported DDS had received inquiries <br />from the local media. <br />Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Carruth, <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 5:27 p.m. <br />Clerk to he B ar <br />
