<br />$669,253.00, which represents a $32,613.00 increase over last year. He
<br />stated the plan represents the HCCBG Steering Committee's recommendation to
<br />allocate a portion of the additional funding to the Commerce Department,
<br />Transportation Department and Cabarrus Meals on Wheels. He pointed out that
<br />Cabarrus Meals on Wheels, a local non-profit, is a new part of the program.
<br />The program includes a 10 percent match.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Home and Community Care
<br />Block Grant Funding Plan for FY '09 on the May 19, 2008 Agenda as a Consent
<br />item.
<br />Finance - Budget Amendments (Special Revenue and Trust Fund)
<br />Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager, presented information related to the
<br />annual budget amendments for the Special Revenue and Trust Funds. The
<br />Special Revenue Fund includes: the Emergency Telephone System, Fire
<br />Districts, Capital Reserve, Capital Reserve Utility, Special Projects,
<br />Sheriff's Special Projects, and the Adequate Facilities Fund. The Trust Fund
<br />includes the Department of Aging, Parks Department and Library Services.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Budget Amendments on
<br />the May 19, 2008 Agenda as a Consent item.
<br />Finance - Approval of Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) Contract
<br />for Services with Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment (CARE) for
<br />Intensive and Regular Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services
<br />Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager, presented information on the
<br />Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) Contract for Services with
<br />Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment (CARE) for Intensive and Regular
<br />Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services for $125,633.

<br />Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager, presented information related to a
<br />budget amendment totaling $1,521,098.52. She reported funds are needed for
<br />the Bus Garage, lighting at the ball field and stadium seats at Hickory Ridge
<br />High School, architectural fees at C.E. Boger Elementary and C.A. Furr
<br />Elementary, etc.
<br />Chairman White commended Sam Masters, Director of Construction for
<br />Cabarrus County Schools and the School Board for reducing construction costs.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Budget Amendment on the
<br />May 19, 2008 Agenda as a Consent item.
