July 21, 2008 (Regular Meeting) Page 905 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the surplus of the livestock barn <br />and the adjacent show ring building and allow Habitat for Humanity to <br />deconstruct these buildings for the purpose of reselling the materials <br />through their Restore program. <br />(F-12) Parke - Cabarrus County Parka Matching Grant Requeata for FY 08-09 <br />The FY 08-09 budget includes $100,000.00 for the Parks Matching <br />Incentive Grants Program. On June 19, 2008 the Cabarrus County Parks <br />Commission reviewed three community Matching Incentive Grant requests <br />totaling $55,950.00. For FY 08-09, the Park Commission recommends the <br />following: (1) award Charles Boger Elementary $10,000.00; Bethel Athletic <br />Association - $41,950.00; and Cox Elementary School - $9,000.00; and (2) open <br />the Matching Incentive Grant Program up for a second cycle for the remaining <br />$49,050.00. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the aforementioned Parks Matching <br />Incentive Grant requests for FY 08-09, including a second grant cycle for the <br />remaining balance, and adopted the following associated budget amendment: <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS DEPARTMENT <br />AMOUNT: $55,950.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To allocate Matching Incentive Grant funds and <br />appropriate revenue from the grantee for the cash match for the Matching <br />Incentive Grants as approved by Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. <br /> Present <br />Account No. Ap proved Budget Increase <br />00198190-9831-0534 $0.00 $8,000.00 <br />MG-Cox Mill PTO <br />00198190-9831-0972 $0.00 $83,900.00 <br />MG-Bethel Athletic Association <br />00198190-9831-0635 $0.00 $20,000.00 <br />MG-Charles E. Boger Elementary School PTO <br />Decrease Revised Budget <br />$8,000.00 <br />$83,900.00 <br />$20,000.00 <br />$55,950.00 $94,050.00 <br />$9,000.00 <br />$41,950.00 <br />$10,000.00 <br />(F-13) Tax Department - Tax Colleator'e Annual Settlement and Order <br />Authorizing Colleation of 2008 Taxes <br />The Tax Collector is required by NC General Statute §105-373 to give an <br />annual settlement on current and delinquent taxes to the governing body for <br />review and approval. -There are two settlement reports for fiscal year 2007- <br />2008. One report for. real and personal delinquent and one for motor vehicle <br />delinquent (taxes that remain unpaid for the preceding fiscal year). Also, <br />there will be a settlement report which shows all taxes charged for <br />collection for fiscal year 2008-2009. This report includes real and <br />personal. <br />ORDER OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH G.S. §105-321 <br />To: J. Brent Weisner <br />Tax Administrator, Cabarrus County <br />You are hereby authorized, empowered, and commanded to collect <br />the 2006 taxes set forth in the tax records filed in the office <br />of the Cabarrus County Assessor, and in the tax receipts herewith <br />delivered to you, in the amounts and from the taxpayers likewise <br />set forth. Such taxes are hereby declared to be a first lien <br />upon all real property of the respective taxpayers in the County <br />of Cabarrus. <br />
