September 8, 2008 (Work Session) <br />Page 957 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the budget amendment for <br />the N.C. Agricultural Development Farmland Preservation Grant for $890,750.00 <br />on the September 22, 2008 Agenda as a Consent item. <br />Community Needs Assessment <br />Vice Chairman Juba reported Gina Goff with the Cabarrus Health Alliance <br />asked to present the 2008 Community Needs Assessment to the Board. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to place 2006 Community Needs Assessment <br />on the September 22, 2008 Agenda as a New Business item. <br />National Farm Safety Week <br />Commissioner Carruth presented a request to proclaim September 21-28, <br />2008 as National Farm Safety Week. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to place a proclamation declaring <br />September 21-27, 2008 as National Farm Safety and Health Week on the <br />September 22, 2008 Agenda as a New Business item. <br />Closed Session <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to go into Closed Session to discuss <br />threatened or pending litigation (APFO - Lanvale) and the acquisition of real <br />property in accordance with N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3)(5). Londa Strong, <br />Parks Director, and Mike Downs and Pam Dubois, Deputy. County Managers, were <br />invited into the Closed Session. <br />UPON MOTION of Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session at 6:37 <br />p.m. <br />Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 6:37 p.m. <br />Clerl~ to he B a <br />
