September 22, 2008 (Regular Meeting) EMS Toolkit Grant Page 973 UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract between NCDHHS, Office of Emergency Services and Cabarrus County EMS; and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract; subject to review and/or revision by the County Attorney. (H) APPOINTMENTS (H-1) Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee The term of appointment for Joanne Yurchison ended July 31, 2008. Ms. Yurchison is willing to serve another term. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Joanne Yurchison to the Adult Care Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending July 31, 2011. (H-2) Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) On June 30, 2008, the terms of appointment ended for the following JCPC members: Susan Burns (School Superintendent Designee); John Wilson (Sheriff's Designee); Scott Stoker (Chief Court Counselor Designee); Revella Nesbit (Area Mental Health Director's Designee); Randy Daniels(County Park's Designee); and Felicia .Wilson (At-Large). Jane Cauthen indicated that each of these members is willing to serve another term. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Susan Burns (School Superintendent Designee); John Wilson (Sheriff's Designee); Scott Stoker (Chief Court Counselor Designee);- Revella Nesbit (Area Mental Health Director's Designee); Randy Daniels (County Park's Designee); and Felicia Wilson (At-Large) to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for two-year terms ending September 30, 2010. (H-3) Nursing Home Com~qunity Advisory Committee Ruth W. Winn has served on the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee (CAC) since 2001 and would like to be reappointed for another 3- year term. In order to comply with the Appointment Policy, an exception to the length of service provision is required. Currently, there are ten vacant positions on this committee despite numerous and ongoing outreach efforts. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and unanimously carried, the Board granted an exception to the length of service provision of the Appointment Policy for Ruth W. Winn. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ruth W. Winn to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending August 31, 2011. Chairman White asked Commissioner Privette to take the lead on finding applicants for the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee. Commissioner Privette accepted the responsibility. (H-4) Region 5 Aoing Advisory Soard The term of appointment for Anita Helms expired June 30, 2008. Ms. Helms is willing to serve another term and is eligible for reappointment. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried,: the Board reappointed Anita Helms to the Region F Aging Advisory Board fora two-year term ending June 30, 2010. (I) REPORTS (I-1) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees Chairman White announced that applications are being accepted for the following Boards and Committees: o Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee o Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee o Concord Planning and Zoning Commission
