September 22, 2008 (Regular Meeting) <br />EMS Toolkit Grant <br />Page 973 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract between NCDHHS, <br />Office of Emergency Services and Cabarrus County EMS; and authorized the <br />County Manager to execute the contract; subject to review and/or revision by <br />the County Attorney. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS <br />(H-1) Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />The term of appointment for Joanne Yurchison ended July 31, 2008. Ms. <br />Yurchison is willing to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Joanne Yurchison to the Adult Care <br />Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending July 31, 2011. <br />(H-2) Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />On June 30, 2008, the terms of appointment ended for the following JCPC <br />members: Susan Burns (School Superintendent Designee); John Wilson <br />(Sheriff's Designee); Scott Stoker (Chief Court Counselor Designee); Revella <br />Nesbit (Area Mental Health Director's Designee); Randy Daniels(County Park's <br />Designee); and Felicia .Wilson (At-Large). Jane Cauthen indicated that each <br />of these members is willing to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Susan Burns (School <br />Superintendent Designee); John Wilson (Sheriff's Designee); Scott Stoker <br />(Chief Court Counselor Designee);- Revella Nesbit (Area Mental Health <br />Director's Designee); Randy Daniels (County Park's Designee); and Felicia <br />Wilson (At-Large) to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for two-year terms <br />ending September 30, 2010. <br />(H-3) Nursing Home Com~qunity Advisory Committee <br />Ruth W. Winn has served on the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br />Committee (CAC) since 2001 and would like to be reappointed for another 3- <br />year term. In order to comply with the Appointment Policy, an exception to <br />the length of service provision is required. Currently, there are ten vacant <br />positions on this committee despite numerous and ongoing outreach efforts. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board granted an exception to the length of service <br />provision of the Appointment Policy for Ruth W. Winn. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Ruth W. Winn to the Nursing <br />Home Community Advisory Committee for a three-year term ending August 31, <br />2011. <br />Chairman White asked Commissioner Privette to take the lead on finding <br />applicants for the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee. Commissioner <br />Privette accepted the responsibility. <br />(H-4) Region 5 Aoing Advisory Soard <br />The term of appointment for Anita Helms expired June 30, 2008. Ms. <br />Helms is willing to serve another term and is eligible for reappointment. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried,: the Board reappointed Anita Helms to the Region F <br />Aging Advisory Board fora two-year term ending June 30, 2010. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees <br />Chairman White announced that applications are being accepted for the <br />following Boards and Committees: <br />o Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />o Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee <br />o Concord Planning and Zoning Commission <br />
