He expressed the need to <br />look at this issue at next year's budget process. <br />Chairman White encouraged each Board member to come with ideas on how <br />to solve problems rather than raise problems. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS <br />~1) Appointment - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) <br />On June 30, 2008, the term of appointment ended for the Juvenile Crime <br />Prevention Council (JCPC) member Angela Ward (at-large representative). Jane <br />Cauthen has indicated that this member is willing to serve another term. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Angela Ward (at-large <br />representative) to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for a two-year term <br />ending September 30, 2010. <br />(H-2) Appointment - Nuraing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />Appointments to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee are <br />needed. Applications have been received from Gilbert Flowe and Margie <br />Norris. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Margie Norris and Gilbert Flowe <br />to the Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee for one-year terms ending <br />October 31, 2009. <br />Commissioner Mynatt stated that the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br />Committee is still in need of more members. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) Request for Appliaations for County Soarde/Committees <br />Chairman White stated the County has a need for volunteers to serve on <br />the following committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission <br />• Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board <br />• Department of Aging Advisory Board <br />• Home and Community Care Block Grant Advisory Committee <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />• Watershed Improvement Commission <br />Chairman White urged citizens to go to the County's website to review <br />the list of committees. <br />Commissioner Carruth recommended the Board members make a personal <br />appeal at their churches for people to serve on these committees. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENT3 HY BOARD MEMEER9 <br />Commissioner Carruth announced that he has been selected to serve on <br />the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners 2009 Legislative Goals <br />Committee. <br />(K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />(K-1) Approval or Correction of Meeting Minutes <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board recessed the meeting of the Board of <br />
