Funds reserved for surveying, right of way acquisition, acquisition, <br />road additions, contingencies, overdrafts, and paving entrances to <br />certified fire departments, rescue squads, etc. <br />Reserved $132,039 <br />GRAND TOTAL $1,305,034 <br />Mr. Morgan responded to questions from the Board regarding the widening <br />of Interstate 85 within Cabarrus County. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board suspended its Rules of Procedure in order <br />to take action on the resolution. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2008-23 <br />A RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO THE <br />2008-2009 SECONDARY ROADS CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM <br />FOR CABARRUS COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has submitted <br />a proposed 2008-2009 Secondary Roads Construction Program for Cabarrus County <br />in the amount of $1,305,039.00; and <br />WHEREAS, representatives of the Department of Transportation in <br />accordance with North Carolina General Statute 136-94.8 met with the Board of <br />County Commissioners at a regularly scheduled agenda work session meeting of <br />the Board on December 1, 2006 at 6:95 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room <br />at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina, in <br />order to present to and discuss with the Board and other citizens present the <br />proposed 2008-2009 Secondary Roads Program; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 136-44.8 provides that the <br />Board of County Commissioners, after the presentation and discussion of the <br />annual Secondary Roads Program, may concur with the program as proposed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners that said Board does concur with the 2008-2009 Secondary Roads <br />Construction Program as presented by the North Carolina Department of <br />
