(G-7) Multipurpose Room Renovations - Award of Contract to G.W. Liles Construction Co. Inc. Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager, presented a request to award the contract to renovate the Multipurpose Room located within the Cabarrus County Governmental Center to G.W. Liles Construction Company in the amount of $146,310.00. Fisher Construction Co., Inc. $156,800.00 Turner Construction $167,000.00 Commissioner Privette MOVED to award the contract to renovate the Multipurpose Room located within the Cabarrus County Governmental Center to G.W. Liles Construction Company in the amount of $146,310.00 and authorize the County Manager to execute the document. Vice Chairman Mynatt seconded the motion. After a brief discussion, the MOTION unanimously carried. (G-8) Finance - Budget Amendment (Wallace Property - Appropriation of Funde for First Payment - $190,000.00) Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager, reported the following: in the month of November, the Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of the Wallace property for the construction of the new southwest park; on December 2, 2008, the Local Government Commission (LGC) also approved the transaction; $1,000,000.00 has been placed into the construction fund for the park; and staff would like to move $190, 000.00 to the debt service area to make the first annual payment to the Wallace's at closing.
