February 19, 2007 (Regular Meeting) Page 261 UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDING CAPITAL FUND AMOUNT: $290,000.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request PURPOSE OF REQUEST: A request is being made to write off the completed Northwest Cabarrus High School Gym project that was funded through the Public School Capital Fund. The project was completed June 2005. This request is made for accounting purposes only. There will not be a net change to the Public School Building Capital Projects Fund. For FY 06/07, Cabarrus County budgeted $1,570,973.00 in current expense funding. The entire Rowan Cabarrus Community College budget totaled $96,362,603.00. By executing the attached request, Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners acknowledges their funding amount and the total budget of Rowan Cabarrus Community College. UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign the "Required Budget Request Sign-Off" form on behalf of Cabarrus County indicating that the budget for Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has been reviewed and approved in the amount of $96,362,603.00 with specific County funding totaling $1,570,973.00. Humanities - S3udaet Amendment (Receipt of S1000 in grant funds The library has received a grant for $1,000 from the North Carolina Humanities Council to assist in the costs of a literary program series "Let's Talk About It" that is being held at the Concord Library February through May 2007. Grant funds will be used to pay program speakers. Funds will be used to cover the costs of program speakers. The Office of the State Fire Marshal is requesting that this area be designated as the Kannapolis Rural Fire Protection District.
