Insurance - for underinsured or uninsured; family and community <br />"buy-in" in terms of the goals; apathy; getting out of silos; legal <br />issues; turf; barriers created by funding streams/need for greater <br />flexibility; information on available services; obtaining <br />information on community literacy; transportation for seniors; <br />preparing the community for new jobs; successful collaboration; <br />sharing resources and ideas; obtaining grant money; creative <br />funding; existing policies, e.g., requiring background checks on <br />seniors wishing to volunteer in schools; differences in state, <br />federal, ahd~ local rules and policies; stable employment; <br />collaboration across boards and agencies; leadership; <br />communication; educating the community; agency flexibility; time <br />and commitment required; multiple points of entry and access; and <br />collecting data. ~ - <br />3. How to get. buy-in from community groups and stakeholders; how will <br />this be funded; creating shared grant writingcapability; establish <br />specific indicators and review periodically; how to create <br />indicator information, communicate it, to whom, by whom; include <br />business, law- enforcement and health professionals; are goals <br />realistic; think outside .the box; develop an efficient and <br />effective communication process among all stakeholders; break down <br />the silos; focus on shared solutions; think of the summit as just <br />the beginning; interagency task forces for each goal; identify what <br />stakeholders want/need from others and what each stakeholder can <br />offer to others; collect data - create model for measurement and <br />dissemination; and create a clearinghouse. <br />Mr. Boyle reported the responses will be compiled, crafted into a <br />presentation and returned to the Board and the County Manager for further <br />distribution and action. <br />Adjourn <br />Chairman Carruth thanked everyone for their participation and sharing <br />their time for this important summit.
