Juba, Vice Chairman Board of Commissioners ATTEST: /s/ Kay Honeycutt Kay Honeycutt, Clerk Page 307 (F-19) Budget Amendment - Financial Support for Efforts to Retain the NA3CAR NEXTEL all-Star Challenge at Lowe'e Motor Speedway - $20,000.00 UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS AMOUNT: $ 20,000.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Departments/Funds PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget amendment transfers funds from Contingency to JHE Production Group, Inc., a local organizing committee, as a committee fee for participation in the planned events showcasing the positive impact of the All-star Challenge and to ensure that it remains at Lowes' Motor Speedway and Cabarrus County. The contractor recommends. undercutting, removal of poor soil and adding extra stone/geogrid material to stabilize the parking lot's sub-base. The total cost of this change order is $99,176.00. There are no excess funds in the construction project; therefore, the use of General Fund contingency funds is requested. UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board approved Changed Order No. 2 for the North Cabarrus Park Phase III project and authorized the County Manager to execute thechange order on behalf of Cabarrus County. Further, the Board adopted the following related budget amendment: BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION AMOUNT: $ 99,178.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request PURPOSE OE REQUEST: Contractor has experienced poor soil in the proposed parking lot. The recommended request is to perform undercutting, removal of poor soil and adding extra stone/geogrid type material to stabilize the parking lot's sub-base. The total cost of this unforeseen change order is $99,178.00.
