<br />(F-4) 9aheduling of Budget Workshops and Public Hearings for Proposed FY 08
<br />County Budget
<br />Budget workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 3:30 p.m.,
<br />Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 5 p.m. and if needed, Thursday, May 29, 2007 at
<br />3:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center (GC). Public
<br />hearings on the proposed budget are scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, 2007 and
<br />Monday, June 4, 2007 at 6 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room at the GC. Adoption
<br />of the proposed budget is scheduled for June 18, 2007.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board set the public hearings on the proposed FY
<br />2008 Cabarrus County Budget on May 23, 2007 in the Multipurpose Room at the
<br />Governmental Center and June 9, 2007 at 6 p.m. or as soon thereafter as
<br />persons may be heard.
<br />(F-5) Approval o£ New Employes Payroll Deduationa
<br />The Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance (Article III.12) requires Board
<br />authorization of employee payroll deductions.
<br />The following deductions are requested:
<br />1. Texas Life Insurance - voluntary group whole life insurance plan for
<br />new enrollees.
<br />2. County tax payment - makes payment easier and provides cash flow to the
<br />County.
<br />3. Roth 901K - allows employees to participate in an additional retirement
<br />plan.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized employee payroll deductions for
<br />premiums for Texas Life Insurance, for payment of Cabarrus County Taxes, and
<br />for Roth 401K participation. Further, the Board delegated authority to the
<br />County Finance Officer and Human Resources Director to jointly monitor and
<br />review current employee payroll deductions and future requests and add or
<br />delete as necessary.
<br />The CJPP Advisory Board has submitted a grant application to the State
<br />for continued CJPP funding of $124,949. CJPP recommends renewal of the
<br />contract with Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment (CARE). This
<br />program is funded entirely with State CJPP program funds.
