Carruth, Chairman <br />Board of Commissioners <br />- Renewal of Annual Co <br />' The annual contract for the In-Home Aide staff and contract nurse for <br />the Community Alternative Program, Personal Care Services, Home & Community <br />Care Block Grant programs in the amount of $1,558,000.00 is up for renewal. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the FY OS Good Health Services <br />Contract for the Department of Social Services in the amount of <br />$1,556,000.00, subject to final approval of FY 2008 budget. Further, the <br />Board authorized the County Manager to execute the Agreement on behalf of <br />Cabarrus County, subject to revision by the County Attorney. <br />(F-4) Emergency Medical Services - Ambulance Billing Process <br />Currently the ambulance billing process is performed in-house with <br />moderate success. Collection rates have been consistently around the 50 - 52~ <br />range. In an effort to improve this rate and thereby collect more revenues, <br />staff is proposing that the process be outsourced to a professional billing <br />company that has experience in emergency medical procedures as well as an <br />understanding/expertise in Medicare, Medicaid and personal health insurance <br />plans. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner White <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract for billing services <br />with EMS Management & Consultants, Inc.; authorized the County Manager and <br />County Attorney to execute the contract on behalf of the County, and approved <br />' the reduction in the workforce as a result of outsourcing. <br />(F-5) North Carolina (Cabarrus County) Special Olympics - Service Agreement <br />Cabarrus County currently provides funding for the local Special <br />Olympics Program to the Cabarrus County Schools to cover 100 of the salary <br />and benefits of the local Program Director. (Additional operating funds may <br />be requested but only upon approval of the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners and the Cabarrus County Board of Education.) These funds are <br />requested annually and funded through the budget process. The proposed <br />Service Agreement is attached for the Board's review and approval. The term <br />of the proposed agreement will be five years - July 1, 2007 through June 30, <br />2012. <br />
