Spencer on February 6 and 9, 2008; and (9) Sets the NACo conference in Washington, DC, on March 1 - 5, 2008; and (5) Sets a meeting with Legislators (County Assembly Day) on May 21, 2008 in Raleigh; and (6) Sets budget workshop meetings on May 22 and 27, 2008 from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m., and optional budget workshop meetings on June 9 and 5 from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.; and (7) Sets the NCACC conference in Craven County on August 21 - 29, 2008; and (9) Sets the organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Commissioners' Meeting Room; and (10) Resolve that any recessed, special or emergency meeting will be held as needed with proper notice as required by North Carolina General Statute 153A-90. He further reported the Transportation Department is requesting the following assistance from the State: administrative funding - $336,912.00 and capital funding (equipment and vans) - $909,960.00. Mr. Bass stated the funding will be used for general public transportation in Cabarrus County. At 7:08 p.m., Chairman White opened the public hearing on the FY OB-09 Community Transportation Program Grant Application. The Public Hearing Notice was published on December 7, 2007 in THE INDEPENDENT TRIBUNE. There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman White closed the public hearing. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: Resolution 2007-34 COMMUNITY TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM RESOLUTION Section 5311 FY 2008 - FY 2009 RESOLUTION Applicant Seeking Permission to Apply for Community Transportation Program Funding, Enter Into Agreement with The North Carolina Department of Transportation and to Provide the Necessary Assurances. A motion was made by Commissioner Robert W. Carruth and seconded by Commissioner Coy C. Privette for the adoption of the following resolution and upon being put to a vote was duly adopted. WHEREAS, Article 2B of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina General Statutes and the Governor of North Carolina have designated the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NC DOT) as the agency responsible for administering federal and state public transportation funds; and WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation will apply for a grant from the US Department of Transportation, Federal Transit
