The <br />banks/brokers musts follow G.S. 159-31, Investment of Idle Funds as Dictated <br />by the Local Government Budget and Fiscal Control Act. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of FTN Financial <br />Capital Markets to the list of bank/brokers for County investment purposes. <br />(G-S) Bid Award to Hilbish Motor Company for Five (5) General Service <br />Administration Trucks <br />The purchase of five (5) service trucks for Building Maintenance, <br />Grounds Maintenance and Facility Services is included in the budget for <br />Fiscal Year 2008 on the replacement schedule. Pursuant to NC General Statute <br />193-129, formal bids were received on November 7, 2007. The legal <br />advertisement was placed on Cabarrus County's website on October 25, 2007. <br />Bid packages were distributed to fourteen (14) vendors of which three (3) <br />responded. It is recommended to award the purchase of these trucks to <br />Hilbish Motor Co. based upon the bid tabulation. The Census Bureau has very specific requirements by <br />law on how to update this data and it must be completed by April 1, 2008. <br />This is an unbudgeted expense which we are requesting to use the Board's <br />contingency to hire a consultant to complete.
