December 17, 2007 (Regular Meeting) <br />Page 650 <br />Due to the increased volume of Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris <br />at the landfill, expansion of the current site is needed to increase the <br />County's capacity. One of the factors for the rapid use of the C&D space is <br />that Cabarrus County's tipping fees are lower than other nearby C&D <br />landfills. Therefore, more C&D debris is brought in from outside this county <br />for disposal. A survey was conducted and an increase in C&D tipping fees <br />from $22.00 per ton to $27.00 per ton is recommended. Other recommended <br />changes are highlighted on the following fee schedule. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following revised Landfill <br />Fee Schedule effective February 1, 2006. <br />Cabarrus County Landfill <br />4441 Irish Potato Road <br />(704) 920-2950 <br />Monday-Friday Sam - 5pm <br />Saturday Sam - 2pm <br />Department of Solid Waste Management <br />Fee Schedule: <br />Construction & Demolition Debris $27.00 per ton / $27.00 minimum charge <br />(maximum charge $220.00 per roll off truck load 40 yard or less) <br />(previously $22/ton) <br />Construction & Demolition loads weighing less then 800 lbs: <br />$22 flat rate per load.
