<br />March 20, 2006 - Regular Meeting <br /> <br />Page <br /> <br />537 <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved Amendment No. 20 to the <br />Agreement between Cabarrus County and Camp Dresser & McKee for engineering <br />services in the amount of $88,918.00 related to the Cabarrus County C & D <br />Landfill Expansion. Further, the Board authorized the County Manager to <br />execute the contract, subject to attorney review and approval. <br /> <br />(F-IO) Criminal Justice Partnership Program Grant Application and Contract <br />for Services with Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment for Intensive <br />and Regular Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Services <br /> <br />The Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) Advisory Board <br />requested authorization to submit a grant application to the State for <br />continued CJPP funding of $117,098.00. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for <br />substance abuse treatment services was issued this year with the current <br />provider, Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment (CARE), submitting the <br />only proposal. The CJPP Board recommended the renewal of the agreement with <br />CARE at a rate of $20.00 per client treatment hour for Intensive Outpatient <br />Treatment, Regular Outpatient Treatment and Aftercare services. This program <br />is funded entirely with State CJPP program funds. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to <br />sign and submit the FY 2007 Criminal Justice Partnership Program Grant <br />application and execute the Standard Grant Award Contract and Conditions. <br />Further, the Board approved the contract with Carolina Addiction and Recovery <br />Environment, Inc. (CARE), and authorized the County Manager to execute the <br />contract, subject to review and revisions by the County Attorney. <br /> <br />(F-1l) <br />Provide <br /> <br />Plan Adjustment for Second Floor of the <br />Classroom Space for the Sheriff's Office <br /> <br />Main Jail Housing Unit to <br /> <br />Due <br />requested <br />classroom <br /> <br />to changing programmatic requirements, <br />that Ware Bonsall Architects create <br />space on the second floor of the main jail <br /> <br />Sheriff Brad Riley <br />schematic drawings <br />housing unit. <br /> <br />has <br />for <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the plan adjustment as <br />included in the Agenda for the second floor of the main jail housing unit to <br />provide classroom space for the Sheriff's Office. <br /> <br />(F-12) <br />Challenge <br /> <br />Financial Support of Efforts to Retain the <br />at Lowe's Motor Speedway/Budget Amendment <br /> <br />NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star <br /> <br />The All-Star Race has a major economic impact in Cabarrus County and <br />the surrounding areas (over $100 million).
