Carruth
Chairman, Board of Commissioners

(F-12) Replacement of Main Front Doors at County Courthouse
Amendment

Budget

Age and frequent use has led to malfunctions and frequent repairs to
the front doors at the Courthouse. These malfunctions have also created
security problems for the Courthouse and the Cabarrus County Sheriff's
Department. A new entrance design with sliding doors will eliminate these
concerns and also assist with traffic flow through the lobby security
station. The cost to remove the existing doors and replace them with the new
system was projected at $26,000.00.

UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner
Privette and unanimously carried, the Board approved the replacement of the
front doors of the Courthouse and adopted the following budget amendment:

BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST

DEPARTMENT OF DEPUTY COUNTY MANAGER
AMOUNT: $26,000.00
TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
PURPOSER OF REQUEST: This budget amendment appropriates $26,000 from
Contingency for the replacement of the front main entrance doors to the
Courthouse building. Replacement of the doors is necessary because the
existing doors do not secure properly when closing, resulting in security
risks throughout the building.

Account No.
00191910-9660
Contingency
00192210-9501 BM
Buildings and

Present
Approved Budget
$50,461.00

Increase

Decrease
$26,000.00

Revised Budget
$24,461. 00

$180,336.00 $26,000.00
Grounds Maintenance - Courts

$206,336.00
