<br />August 21, 2006 (Regular Meeting) <br /> <br />Page 47 <br /> <br />NOES: None <br /> <br />(F) CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />In reference to Item F-15 (Emergency Medical Services Budget <br />Amendment Station #5 - Approval of Minor Upfi ts) John Day, County Manager, <br />disclosed a part-time County employee owns a home near the intersection of <br />Highway 73 and Kannapolis Parkway that will be used temporarily by the County <br />as an EMS Station until construction of a fire station is completed by the <br />Ci ty of Kannapolis. He also reported the County Attorney has reviewed the <br />lease. <br /> <br />Richard M. Koch, County Attorney, stated he has reviewed the lease, is <br />comfortable with it and is aware of the relationship of the parties. <br /> <br />In reference to Item F-26 (Rowan-Cabarrus Community College - Letter of <br />Support for the Community-Based Job Training Grant Proposal), Chairman <br />Carruth reported he was asked by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to write a <br />letter of support for a federal grant application that was due prior to the <br />regular August meeting. Since the letter was on behalf of the Board, he said <br />he thought the letter should be voted on "post action" and did not think <br />there would be any disagreement from Board members on sending the letter of <br />support. <br /> <br />(F-l) Tax Refund and Release Report - July 2006 <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the July 2006 Release and Refund <br />Report as submitted by J.
