Spencer Park) <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION <br />AMOUNT: $297,301.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: On June 19, 2006, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners approved funding the following projects: Softball field #1 <br />renovation at Frank Liske Park ($97,801.00), soccer field's renovation at <br />Frank Liske Park ($149,500.00) and design/specifications for swimming pool <br />bathhouse at Camp TN Spencer Park ($50,000.00). The first series of bonds were <br />issued on March 8, 2005. To meet cash-flow requirements, the final series of <br />bonds is scheduled for issue in September 2006. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br /> <br />Resolution 2006-24 <br /> <br />EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF <br />MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE <br />COUNTY OF CABARRUS, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina, <br />met in regular session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room in the Cabarrus <br />County Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina, the regular place of <br />meeting, at 6:30 p.m., on August 21, 2006, with Robert W. Carruth, Chairman, <br />presiding. The following Commissioners were: <br /> <br />PRESENT: Vice Chairman Joni D. Juba and Commissioners Carolyn B. <br />Carpenter and Robert M. Bonds, <br />Clerk to the Board <br />* * * * * <br /> <br />Commissioner Carpenter introduced the following resolution, a summary <br />of which had been provided to each Commissioner, a copy of which was <br />available with the Clerk to the Board and which was read by title: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF <br />$48,000,000 PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES 2006 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners (the "Board") for the <br />County of Cabarrus, North Carolina (the "County"): <br /> <br />Section 1. The Board has determined and does hereby find, declare and <br />represent: <br />(a) That an order authorizing not exceeding $94,900,000 School Bonds <br />was adopted by the Board on August 25, 2004, which order was approved by the <br />vote of a majority of the qualified voters of said County who voted thereon <br />at a special referendum duly called and held on November 2, 2004. <br />
