September 25, 2006 (Regular Meeting) Page 124 <br />Chairman Carruth stated there is an issue regarding the critical path <br />of the retaining wall for the Jail. <br />John Day, County Manager, reported there are a couple of items the <br />Board needs to make decisions on quickly concerning retaining walls, footings <br />and brick. <br />Chairman Carruth asked if any Board members planned to attend the <br />Chamber's Annual Elected Officials meeting to be held in Harrisburg on <br />September 26, 2006. <br />Commissioners Carpenter and Freeman stated they would be in attendance. <br />Commissioner Privette stated he would be in Brunswick County and could <br />not attend. <br />Chairman Carruth said he would like for the Board to discuss these <br />issues before the meeting in Harrisburg begins and suggested the Board meet <br />at 5:30 p.m. at the Harrisburg Town Hall. <br />Mr. Day suggested the meeting begin at 5 o'clock since Harrisburg's <br />meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. <br />Chairman Carruth stated the Board would, at the conclusion of this <br />meeting, recess until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at the <br />Harrisburg Town Hall. <br />(G-7) Resolution Revising the Regular Meeting Schedule for October 2006 <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Freeman, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried the Board adopted the following Resolution changing <br />the agenda work session to October 9, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. and the regular <br />meeting to October 30, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.: <br />Resolution 2006-28 <br />RESOLUTION REVISING THE REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE <br />OF THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER 2006 <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners has established a <br />regular meeting schedule that provides for an agenda work session on Monday, <br />October 2, at 3:30 p.m. and a regular meeting on Monday, October 16, 2006, at <br />6:30 p.m.; and <br />WHEREAS, due to scheduling conflicts, the Board desires to reschedule <br />both the work session and the regular meeting. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners does hereby revise its regular meeting schedule to change the <br />regular agenda work session in October 2006 from October 2 to October 9 at <br />3:30 p.m. and to change the regular meeting date from October 16 to October <br />30, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. The work session will be held in the Multipurpose Room <br />(Room 231) and the regular meeting will be held in the Commissioners Meeting <br />Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street, SE, <br />Concord. Ms. <br />Hall has served seven consecutive years but has indicated her willingness to <br />continue to serve if the Board chooses to make an exception to the County' s <br />Appointment Policy.
