<br />(F-9) Write Off of 1996 Real and Personal Outstanding Taxes for Cabarrus
<br />County and City of Kannapolis
<br />General Statute 105-378(a) "Use of Remedies Barred" states that no
<br />county or municipality may maintain an action or procedure to enforce any
<br />remedy provided by law for the collection of taxes or the enforcement of any
<br />tax liens unless the action or procedure is instituted within 10 years from
<br />the date the taxes become due. The insolvent amount is as follows: 1996,
<br />$57,948.24; 386 records.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the write-off of the
<br />1996 Real and Personal Outstanding Taxes for Cabarrus County and City of
<br />Kannapolis.
<br />(F-10) Award of Sid to Ike's Construction Inc., for North Cabarrus Park
<br />Phase III
<br />On August 31, 2006, three bids were received and opened for the North
<br />Cabarrus Park - Phase III project. The overall low bidder was Ike's
<br />Construction, Inc. at $572,875.93. By method of value engineering, this
<br />project bid was reduced to within approved funds of $403,818.00. The
<br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Department recommends awarding the
<br />contract bid to Ike's Construction ,Inc. for $403,818.00. The bid tabulation
<br />is as follows:

<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board awarded the bid totaling
<br />$403,818.00 for the North Cabarrus Park Phase III project to Ike's
<br />Construction, Inc. and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract,
<br />subject to review by the County Attorney.
<br />(F-11) Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Recommended Matching Incentive
<br />Grant Requests for FY 2006-2007 and Budget Amendment
<br />In August, the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed
<br />requests from four (4) nonprofit community groups requesting $78,247.00 in
<br />grant funds. The Parks and Recreation Commission recommended awarding
<br />$78,247.00 toward four community projects for FY 2006-2007 as follows:
