The purpose of this program <br />is to assist in reducing vandalism and abuse of public facilities in Cabarrus <br />County. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved a Park Watch Program for the <br />following County-operated parks: Frank Liske Park; North Cabarrus Park; and <br />Camp T. N. Spencer Park. <br /> <br />(F-21) Rowan-Cabarrus Community Co11e~e Parking Lot Bxpansion <br />Amendment <br /> <br />Budget <br /> <br />Additional funds in the amount of $69,560.00 are needed by Rowan- <br />Cabarrus Community College to complete the parking lot project at the <br />Cabarrus Campus on Trinity Church Road. The additional cost relates to <br />geotechnical (soil boring) samples, general increase in asphalt and concrete <br />prices and required modification to the retaining pond. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the BOard adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION FUND <br />AMOUNT: $69,560.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Transfer Between Function/Fund <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Utilize contingency funds to enable the completion of <br />the parking lot project as currently designed. A new agreement has been drafted for a <br />term of five years and includes County funding at 100 percent of the <br />director's salary/benefit ($43,408.00). <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Service Agreement between <br />Cabarrus County and the Cabarrus County Board of Education for administering <br />the North Carolina Special Olympics Program in Cabarrus County as submitted <br />for a period of five years beginning July I, 2005 and ending June 30, 2010. <br />Further, the Board authorized the County Manager to execute the Agreement on <br />behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />(F-23) Designation of the Department of Aging as Lead Agency for the Home <br />and Community Care Block Grant Progr~ <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the designation of the Department <br />of Aging as the Lead Agency for the Home and Community Care Block Grant <br />Program until further notice. <br /> <br />(F-24) <br /> <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan - Fiscal Year 2006 <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Home and Community Care Block <br />Grant (HCCBG) Funding Plan as recommended by the HCCBG Steering Committee and <br />included in the Agenda. Further, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign <br />the Funding Plan to be processed with the Centralina Council of Governments <br />Area Agency on Aging. The Funding Plan provides for the FY 2006 HCCBG <br />allocation of $582,114.00 be distributed as follows: Cabarrus County <br />Department of Aging ($352,563.00), Department of Social Services <br />($109,141.00), Cabarrus County Transportation Department ($87,600.00); and <br />the Commerce Department ($32,810.00). <br />
