Department of Health & Human Services to develop and <br />coordinate a local plan to assist county residents with the transition <br />process and enrollment into the new Medicare Part D prescription drug <br />benefit. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment: <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF AGING <br />AMOUNT: $20,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Grant funds from NC Dept. of Health & Human Services for <br />Medicare Part D Transition. C. General Statute 150-373(4) (h), the County <br />Commissioners may relieve the tax collector of the charge of taxes on motor <br />vehicles that are one or more years past due when it appears that the taxes <br />are uncollectible. Historically, the County Commissioners have relieved the <br />tax collector of the charge of these taxes when they become three years past <br />due. The Tax Collector's office has exhausted all means of collecting the <br />vehicle taxes due from March 2001 through February 2002. The amount to be <br />relieved is $262,233.31 as of June 29, 2005. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to relieve the tax collector of the <br />charge of collecting taxes on classified motor vehicles for the period of <br />March 2001 through February 2002 totaling $262,233.31 (as of June 29, 2005), <br />pursuant to N.C. General Statute 105-373(4) (h). . <br /> <br />(F-ll) Acceptance of Tax Collector's Annual Settlement and Adoption of <br />Order Authorizing Collection of 2005 Taxes <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the following Tax Collector's <br />Annual Settlement as reported; and .accepted and approved the Order set forth <br />below authorizing collection of 2005 taxes in accordance with N.C.
