Set the table - invite folks - bring them together . Be credible . Engage stakeholders in defining purpose, scope and goals . Convene an elected officials summit . Prepare a resolution to be adopted by the Board establishing its statement of purpose After discussion, there was general consensus that the first step would be to get input from the stakeholders and that the County Manager would serve as the point person in convening the stakeholders and gathering that information. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Juba and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager to begin the process as outlined before the Board (see "Getting Started - Action Steps" as set forth above) . Mr. Day suggested that the Board adopt the statement of purpose and commitment to begin implementation of the planning process. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board agreed for the draft statement of purpose and goals (see above) to be used in preparing a Resolution for adoption by the Board at its next meeting.
