<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Freeman
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment
<br />appropriating grant funds from the Cannon Charitable Trusts No.1 and No.2:

<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Appropriated grant funds received from Cannon Charitable
<br />Trusts 1 & 2 to Library Circulation Stock, ITS Services and purchased
<br />services. Funds will be used for the purchase of library materials (books,
<br />etc) and computer equipment and software, specifically for use by bookmobile
<br />and to support a variety of children's and adult programming activities.

<br />(F-9) Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) - Grant Award Contract and
<br />Related Budget Amendment
<br />
<br />On February 21, 2005, the Board authorized the submission of a grant
<br />application to the North Carolina Department of Corrections for continued
<br />Criminal Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) funding of $115,231. 00. The
<br />State approved the application along with the additional grant funds of
<br />$1,867.00 for a total grant award of $117,098.00.

<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Freeman
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the contract between Cabarrus
<br />County and the North Carolina Department of Criminal Justice Partnership
<br />Program and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract on behalf
<br />of the County; adopted the following budget amendment appropriating $1,867.00
<br />in additional grant funds awarded by the State; and authorized the following
<br />fiscal/budgetary signatory designees to submit reimbursement requests for
<br />CJPP funding: Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager/Finance nirectori Susan
<br />Fearrington, Assistant Finance Directori and Shelley Farris, Accounting
<br />operations supervisor.
