Copies of any amendments to the ordinance; and <br />7. Any other information the Advisory Board deems useful. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XVII <br />LEGAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />A. Severability <br />If any article, section, subsection, clause, phrase, or portion of this <br />ordinance is for any reason found invalid or unconstitutional by any <br />court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the <br />validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />B. Conflict with other Ordinances and Statutes <br />Whenever the provisions of this ordinance conflict with other ordinances <br />of Cabarrus County, this ordinance shall govern. Whenever the provisions <br />of any federal or state statute require more restrictive provisions than <br />are required by this ordinance, the provisions of such statute shall <br />govern. <br /> <br />C. Amendments <br />This ordinance may be amended from time to time by the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XVIII <br />ENACTMENT <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners hereby adopts and enacts the <br />preceding articles and sections of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 21st day of November, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion for adoption by Commissioner Privette and seconded by Chairman <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />/s/ Carolyn B. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney <br /> <br />(G-2) Zoning Text Amendment (C05-06 (T)) - County Sign Standards - Public <br />Hearing <br /> <br />Rodger Lentz, Planning and Zoning Manager, presented information <br />concerning the proposed revisions to the County Sign Standards to clarify the <br />rules for various types of signs as well as update and modernize the County <br />sign table. He reported the Zoning text amendment was unanimously <br />recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Town of Midland <br />adopted similar sign regulations last week. Further, he outlined the <br />following changes made by the Midland Town Council and suggested that the <br />Board may wish to incorporate those changes into the draft Ordinance included <br />in the Agenda: <br /> <br />(1) Page 2 - Individual Parcels for Sale by Owner or Real Estate Company - <br />Add the words "rent or lease"; delete limit on number of signs; <br />decrease size to three (3) square feet; decrease permitted height to <br />three (3) feet. <br />(2) Page 5 - Political signs are not subject to the limitation of no more <br />than four (4) off-premise signs at standard intersection and shall not <br />count toward the four (4) sign limit. <br /> <br />Mr. Lentz also responded to <br />recent legislation regarding <br />the County does not have <br />billboards. <br /> <br />questions concerning billboard regulations <br />the amortization of billboards.
