April 19, 2004 Page 422 <br /> <br />BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED that Appendix D, Travel Policy, of the Cabarrus County <br />Personnel Ordinance is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section 4. Authorized Travel Modes (d): <br /> <br />CH3~NGE TO: <br />(d) Commercial Airlines Ail airline tickets for county related travel must <br />be purchased with the goal of obtaining the best rate for the county, either <br />through David Walter Travel agency or an Internet website. Airfare must be <br />billed directly to the county unless prohibited by unusual circumstances. <br /> <br />Section 5. Travel Destination (b): <br /> <br />CHA/gGE TO: <br /> <br />(b) Special Local Travel - County employees who, in the interest of the <br />county, and with department approval, travel to schools, conferences, <br />meetings, etc., within the county, may be reimbursed to the limits of the <br />policy for: <br /> 1. Transportation cost <br /> 2. Registration cost <br /> 3. Meals (only if included as part of meeting or registration fee) <br /> 4. Necessary incidental expenses <br /> <br />Section 5. Travel Destination (f) : <br /> <br />CHA/~GE TO: <br />(f) Out of State Travel -Overnight out-of-state trips requires prior approval <br />by the Deputy County Manager of the department head or the Deputy County <br />Manager of Administration, except for transportation of prisoners and other <br />law enforcement activities. <br /> <br />Section 7. Travel Advances (Paragraph 2; Sentence 1): <br /> <br />CHANGE TO: <br />Travel advance checks will not be issued for estimated expenses less than <br />$200.00, unless a department head approves such an advance due to a personal <br />hardship placed on an employee. <br /> <br />ADD THE FOLLOWING AFTER THE FIRST SENTENCE OF PkRAGRAPH 2 <br />Travel advances not settled within ten (10) working days to the Finance <br />Department will also be subject to suspension from future travel advances for <br />a period of time and /or permanently suspended depending on the number of <br />occurrences. <br /> <br />Section 8. Travel Procedure (e) Sentence 1: <br /> <br />CHD=NGE TO: <br />(e) Auditing - Ail department head travel will be reviewed by the Deputy <br />County Manager of the department head or the Deputy County Manager of <br />Administration. <br /> <br />These changes are effective on the date of adoption. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 19tn day of April 2004 by the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br /> /s/ Robert M. She proposed the adoption of a joint resolution <br />by the boards of commissioners in Cabarrus, Mecklenburg and Iredell counties <br />in support of the motorsports industry and for keeping motorsports teams, <br />facilities, etc., in North Carolina and particularly the counties in this <br />region. <br /> <br /> <br />
