July 26, 2004 Page 575 (F-17) Revised Construction Standards Fee Schedule The fee schedule for Construction Standards was amended in May with an effective date of July 1, 2004. The implementation of the new schedule revealed inconsistencies between some of the specific schedules and some minor items were not covered. The proposed revisions will eliminate those inconsistencies and address the additional permit types that have been identified. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Acting Chairman Carruth and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following fee schedules for Construction Standards effective July 1, 2004: CABARRUS COUNTY CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS FEE SCHEDULES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2004 SCHEDULE A - NEW CONSTRUCTION General Value of Construction Permit Fee $ 0 - $15,000 $ 75.00 15,001 - 25,000 113.00 25,001 - 40,000 176.00 40,001 - 50,000 218.00 Estimated construction cost above $50,000 will be charged an additional $3.00 per additional $1,000.00 building value. *Estimated cost for residential construction will be based on the total cost of construction or $55.00 per square foot of heated space and $25.00 per square foot of unheated space whichever is greater. A $10.00 surcharge will be added to these permits as required by the "Homeowners Recovery Fund". Other new construction fees: Mobile Home $100.00 Daycare/Group Care/Foster Care Home Inspection $100.00 Temporary Construction Trailer Permit $100.00 Replacement Building Permit Cards $ 3.00 PLAN REVIEW AND GENERAL POLICY Plan Review - $50.00 base fee plus .03/square foot Callback Fee - A $50.00 callback fee will be charged for re- inspection for any return trip to a site due to owner, contractor or sub-contractor being unprepared for the original inspection. Other building permit fees: Special event tents (for religious, exhibition, political, secular, amusement or commercial purposes) - $25.00 per tent. Certificate of Occupancy for Existing Buildings - $20.00. (For businesses who locate in an existing commercial building where no construction occurs in preparation to operate the business. This Certificate of Occupancy shall be issued only after approval from the applicable zoning, building inspection, fire, health, engineering and state agencies having jurisdiction). SCHEDULE B Building permit for the alteration, demolition, remodel, removal, repair, re-roofing, or reconstruction of any structure. This schedule also applies to accessory buildings.
