Juba, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution <br />of the united States; so help me, God. <br />I, Joni D. Juba, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will be faithful <br />and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina, and to the <br />constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be established for the <br />government thereof; and that I will endeavor to support, maintain, and defend <br />the Constitution of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and <br />ability; so help me God. <br />I, Joni D. Erwin Spainhour <br />Senior Resident Superior Court Judge <br /> <br />(D) <br /> <br />ORGANIZATION OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Chairman Freeman turned the meeting over to John Day, County Manager, who <br />presided over the organization of the Board. <br /> <br />Mr. Day called for nominations for Chairman. <br /> <br />Commissioner Juba moved for the appointment of Commissioner Carpenter to <br />the position of Chairman. Commissioner Carruth seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Privette nominated Commissioner Freeman for appointment to <br />the position of Chairman, citing his past leadership of the Board. <br />Commissioner Freeman seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Carpenter was elected Chairman by the following vote: <br /> <br />Voting for Commissioner Freeman: Commissioners Privette and Freeman <br />Voting for Commissioner Carpenter: Commissioners Carpenter, Carruth <br />and Juba <br /> <br />Chairman Freeman expressed his pleasure in serving the citizens of <br />Cabarrus County as Chairman of the Board and stated his intent to continue to <br />work with Chairman Carpenter, the other Board members and the citizens of <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />
