Dr. <br />Pilkington and Ms. Stanley responded to a number of questions by the Board <br />concerning the Plan, the seriousness of the disease and local funding that <br />would be required to supplement the Federal and State funding in the event of <br />a smallpox emergency. <br /> <br />(F-5) Department of Social Services Reorganization and Position <br /> <br />Reclassifications <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Cummings, Human Resources Director, presented the proposed <br />reclassifications to support the restructuring of the management area at the <br />Department of Social Services. He stated that restructuring began a year ago <br />when staff was reduced and duties reassigned to other management staff. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Privette, member of the Social Services Board, commented <br />on the reorganization of the Department, including the deletion of eight <br />supervisory positions, transfer of responsibilities to three program <br />administrators and the projected savings of over $3,000.00 to the County. The <br />Social Services Board concurred with the requested changes on January 28. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following <br />reclassifications (and adjustment of the Job Classification Schedule as <br />necessary) of the following positions effective December 2002 to support the <br />restructuring at the Department of Social Services. <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Social Work Program Manager I, Grade 75, to County Social Services <br />Deputy Director, Grade 77. <br />Income Maintenance Administrator II, Grade 74, to Social Work Program <br />Manager I, Grade 75. <br />Income Maintenance Supervisor III, Grade 69, to Income Maintenance <br />Administrator I, Grade 72. <br />County Social Services Business Officer I, Grade 73, to Administrative <br />Officer I, Grade 67. <br /> <br />(F-6) Rec~uest for Two New Income Maintenance Caseworker Positions at the <br /> <br />Department of Social Services and Related Budget Amendment <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Cook, Social Services Director, presented the proposal to add <br />two new Income Maintenance Caseworker positions. He stated the new positions <br />were needed to help with the substantial increase in the caseload over the <br />last 18 months.
