King to the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee for a term of three years ending <br />February 28, 2006. <br /> <br />(G-2) Centralina Workforce Development Board <br /> <br /> UPON MTION of Vice Chairman Suggs, seconded by Chairman Freeman and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Jim Cook to the Social Services <br />position on the Centralina Workforce Development Board for a term of two <br />years ending June 30, 2005. <br /> <br /> Mr. Cook will fill the position currently held by James Polk who is <br />completing his sixth term or 12 consecutive years on the Workforce <br />Development Board. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Emily Behm to the Education <br />position on the Centralina Workforce Development Board for a term of two <br />years ending June 30, 2005. <br /> <br /> (G-3) TranSportation Advisor}, Board <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request by the Transportation <br />Advisory Board to expand the membership of that Board and appointed the <br />following members: Patricia M. Baker (Cabarrus Department of Social <br />Services); Frances H. Lowder (Retired); Shannon Gordhamer (Cabarrus Health <br />Alliance); and Betty Jean Prewitt (Cooperative Christian Ministry). Further, <br />the Board appointed C. Dianne Hansford (NorthEast Medical Center) as an ex <br />officio member. Ail terms of appointment will end on June 30, 2005. <br /> <br />(H) INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br /> chairman Freeman opened the meeting for informal public comments at <br />9:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mr. Dan Johnson of Craft Homes stated he is developing two subdivisions <br />in Cabarrus County and has agreed to contribute $500.00 per lot toward school <br />adequacy. He expressed ~oncern that he will now have to develop the <br />subdivisions in accordance with Concord's Unified Development Ordinance in <br />order to obtain water service from the City. He stated the time and extra <br />cost associated with such requirements as curb/gutter and sidewalks would <br />damage the affordability of the homes being built in the subdivisions. <br />Finally, Mr. Johnson asked that the Board amend its original approval of <br />Brandon Ridge Subdivision to allow the payment of the $500.00 per lot at the <br /> <br /> <br />
