(F-15) Re~ister of Deeds - Budget Amendment (Automation Enhancement and Preservation Revenue) UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment. BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST DEPARTMENT OF Register of Deeds AMOUNT: $3,500.00 TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request PURPOSE OF REQUEST: A request to appropriate additional Automation Enhancement and Preservation revenue in order to scan Veteran Discharges. Effective 01.01.2004, G. S. 47-13.2(a) will restrict public access to discharges that have been recorded in the Register of Deeds office for 50 years or less. Hard copies will be transferred to Register of Deeds basement vault, which is inaccessible to the public. The proposed Phase I Scope of Services has been prepared with compensation as follows: Jail Facility Program - $71,280.00; Judicial Master Plan - $26,240.00; Site Selection Study - $23,440.00. The County will also be charged reimbursable expenses for such things as travel, reproductions, etc. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Phase I Scope of Services and fees for Ware Bonsall Architects for the Jail and Court Facilities project and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract with Ware Bonsall Architects. (F-17) Settin~ a Joint Meeting with the Cabarrus County Board of Education on Noveu~er 20, 2003 UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to meet with the Cabarrus County Board of Education at 6:30 p.m. on Thdrsday, November 20, 2003, at the Cabarrus County Education Center to discus growth-related issues. (6) ~-EW BUSINESS (6-1) Road Name Chan~e - Little Man Trail to Lexford Court - Public Hearin~ - 6~30 p.m. Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Planning Services Director, presented the request for the renaming of Little Man Trail to Lexford Court (Petition C2003-01). Three residents owning 73.9 percent of the street frontage have petitioned to rename the street. Lexford Court meets all street-naming criteria, including 911 considerations. At 8:05 p.m., Chairman Freeman opened the public hearing for the renaming of Little Man Trail to Lexford Court and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the proposed road name change. The Public Hearing Notice was published in THE CHARLOTTE OBSERVER (Cabarrus Neighbors) on October 9, 2003. There was no one present to address the Board, and Chairman Freeman closed the public hearing. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs and unanimously carried, the Board approved the renaming of Little Man Trail to Lexford Court (Petition C2003-01) .
