<br /> In May 2003, the State awarded a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant of
<br />$250,000.00 to Cabarrus County to develop new recreational facilities at Camp
<br />Spencer. The Board approved matching funds of $250,000.00 in the FY 2004 budget.
<br />The following informal bids were received for the bathhouse and boathouse with
<br />the low bid from Ike's Construction, Inc., well under budget estimates.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the award of the contract for the
<br />construction of the bathhouse and boathouse at Camp Spencer to the Iow bidder,
<br />Ike's Construction, Inc., in the amount of $120,893.00, and authorized the County
<br />Manager to execute the contract with Ike's Construction, Inc., on behalf of the
<br />County.

<br />(F-5) Rec~ueSt for New Real Estate A~raiser Position and Related Budget
<br />Amendment
<br />
<br /> The Board received the written request from Brent Weisner, Tax
<br />Administrator, to add another Real Estate Appraiser position effective December
<br />1, 2003. The position will enable the Tax Assessor Department to be adequately
<br />staffed to complete the current revaluation project and to do the next
<br />revaluation completely in-house.
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the establishment of a new Real Estate
<br />Appraiser position and adopted the following budget amendment.

<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To establish Position Number 141030 Real Estate Appraiser as
<br />of December 1, 2003. This position will enable the Tax Assessor Department to
<br />be adequately staffed to complete the FY 2005 Revaluation and complete the next
<br />revaluation completely in-house. FY 2004 funding will be provided by two vacant
<br />temporary data collection positions; however, this position will require a
<br />commitment from the Board in the FY 2005 budget process. Two (2) Data Collector
<br />Position Numbers 141901 and 141903 will be deleted.
