Division of Social Services in surpassing the baseline number of finalized <br />adoption during previous fiscal year. The agency has received a Federal Adoption <br />Incentive Grant of $13,629. These funds are provided to supplement adoption <br />services. Since the occupancy <br />tax remains at five percent, it is necessary to reduce the budget by $166,934.00. <br />This reduction has been approved by the Tourism Authority. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br /> BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF Cabarrus County Tourism Authority <br />AMOUNT: $166,934.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Reduction of Occupancy Tax revenue and Convention Center <br />expense applicable to the FY 2004 Cabarrus County Tourism Authority Budget. The document was created by representatives from all <br />of the counties in the district and is available for review in the Cabarrus <br />County Department of Commerce. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 2003-36 <br /> RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT <br /> FOR THE <br /> 8TM CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT <br /> COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina is a member of the 8th <br />Congressional District Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) <br />Committee; and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the specific responsibility of the 8~n Congressional District CEDS <br />Committee was to prepare CEDS; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CEDS Committee has completed work on and endorsed a CEDS. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus <br />County hereby endorses the 8th Congressional District CEDS as a tool to direct <br />economic development efforts which will benefit the entire 8~n Congressional <br />District. <br /> <br /> <br />
