February 18, 2002 Page 282 <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Suggs and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Carl Donahue to the Industrial <br />Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority for a term of six years <br />ending January 10, 2008, contingent upon Mr. Donahue's acceptance of the <br />appointment. <br /> <br /> One vacancy remains on the Financing Authority, as Robert Suddreth did not <br />wish to be considered for reappointment due to work commitments. <br /> <br />Adult Care Home Community Advisor~ Committee <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed William J. King to the Adult Care Home <br />Community Advisory Committee for an initial term of one year ending February 28, <br />2003. <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br /> Chairman Freeman opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments at 8:42 <br />p.m. There was no one present who wished to address the Board, and Chairman <br />Freeman closed that portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS DISCUSSION & RESPONSE TO INFORF~AL PUBLICCOMMENTS <br /> <br /> Vice Chairman Carruth reported that Adam Hines' from the Cabarrus Health <br />Alliance would be attending the February. 25tn meeting to discuss a proposed <br />"Quality of Life" Resolution. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to discuss <br />personnel matters as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 143- <br />318.11(a) (6) and to discuss matters relating to the expansion of businesses or <br />industries in Cabarrus County as authorized by North Carolina General Statute <br />143-18.11 (a) (4). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Suggs and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to come out of the Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />RECESS OF MEETING <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Freeman <br />recessed the meeting at 9:50 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2002, <br />in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center. <br /> <br />CIe~k to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
