April 15, 2002 Page 326 <br /> <br /> Account No. <br />EXPENSE <br />00195680-9463 <br /> Day Care - Children <br />REVENUE <br />00165680-6205 <br /> Day Care Children <br /> <br /> Present <br />Approved Budqet <br /> <br />$4,255,423.00 <br /> <br />$3,463,423.00 <br /> <br />Increase Decrease <br /> <br />$176,189.00 <br /> <br />$176,189.00 <br /> <br />Revised Budqet <br /> <br />$4,431,612.00 <br /> <br />$3,639,612.00 <br /> <br />Articles of Association and Agreement -for the Centralina Workforce <br />Development Consortium and a Resolution Approving the Articles of Association <br />and Agreement for the Consortium <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Articles of Association and <br />Agreement for the Centralina Workforce Development Consortium and adopted the <br />following Resolution. <br /> Resolution No. 2002 - 12 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE ARTICLES <br /> OF ASSOCIATION AND <br /> AGREEMENT FOR THE CENTRALINA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT <br /> CONSORTIUM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the counties of Anson, Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, <br />Stanly, and Union as independent and contiguous units of general purpose <br />local government do hereby agree to continue as the Centralina Workforce <br />Development Consortium to act jointly as a Workforce Investment Area under <br />the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, certain technical revisions to the original "Articles of <br />Association" and subsequent amendments, have been made for Program Years 2002 <br />and 2003 and have been executed by the Chairman of this Board on behalf of <br />this county, subject to ratification of such action by this Board. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the "Articles of Association" designates the signatory <br />official for the Consortium and the administrative/fiscal agent to administer <br />the program on behalf of the Consortium, and requests certification of the <br />current Centrallna Workforce Development Board as the local "Workforce <br />Investment Board" as required by the Act; now, therefore it is <br /> <br /> RESOLVED, that the execution of the aforesaid "Articles of Association <br />and Agreement For The Centralina Workforce Development Consortium" by our <br />Chairman is ratified and adopted by this Board. <br /> <br />The foregoing resolution is adopted by <br />the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />on this date. Items 1 and 2 are <br />currently budgeted. <br /> <br />1) Harris Road Middle sewer extension: Culp Brothers, Inc. $115,796.00 <br />2) Cox Mill Elementary sewer extension: Allied Grading $137,860.00 <br />3) Survey for future elementary site: Concord Engineering $3,275.00 <br />4) Phase II Auxiliary Gym @ CCHS: Qore Property Sciences $3,760.00 <br />5) New Bethel Site, Wetland Study: BLUE (Environmental) $1,950.00 <br /> <br />Sale of Property on Edwards Street by the Cabarrus County Board of Education <br />to Habitat for Humanity (Waive Right of First Refusal) <br /> <br /> The Board received the request from Dr. Harold Winkler, Cabarrus County <br />School Superintendent, for the Cabarrus County Board of Education to sell <br />property on Edwards Street to Habitat for Humanity at a price of $1.00. <br />Habitat would be responsible for surveying and all associated legal fees. <br /> <br /> <br />
